Threadwatch has an interesting post that talks about the use of the “nofollow” tag on sites like Google, Technorati, and Wikipedia.
Seems that by using the SearchStatus extension for Firefox you are able to easily see all of the links that have “nofollow” tags.
Now I can understand the use of “nofollow” on blogs like this one - we already get too much comment spam - but Google not giving out link love? Cmon!
Is it really necessary to horde your link juice? Some might argue that it is, but many successful sites are able to rank well with outbound links…of course these sites also usually provide good content and draw in good links on their own.
Anyway, check out the post, and let me know if you are actively using the “nofollow” tag on your Web sites.
Happy Monday.
