Thanks for the link. Good info even if you've heard some of it before. Should one make a non-commercial site also search engine friendly? I think so, if your goal is to share information.

Hey Don - if your goal is to share information I think it is essential to be search engine friendly.
A lot of people (website designers in particular) forget that there is no real point in having a super fancy, whistles and bells website if no one can find it. Since search engines are the main tool people use to find sites, you should always build a site that "plays nice" with search engine spiders.
Following the advice in the article will at least make your site indexable - which is the first step in the optimization process.
