No One Believes Man Really Lives

March 8th, 2006 by Penny Hagerman

According to the Social Security Administration, 81-year-old Myron Manders is deceased…dead…fini.

The truth is, he’s very much alive. But even after showing up in person at the SSA to prove it, no one believes him!

Manders, who entered a hospital last November with pneumonia, was recorded by some erroneous document as having died during his stay, according to today’s article in the Insurance Journal.

Following his “death,” Mander’s life insurance company paid his wife a survivor’s benefit, which she now will have to pay back–even though they still insist he really died.

In addition, the Social Security Administration has now notified Mander’s “widow” that she is entitled to monthly survivor’s benefits because her husband served in the Army during WWI.

Poor Mr. Manders just wants to live out the rest of his days in peace. Not very likely, considering he’s dead!
