Trouble in Blog Paradise
Greetings, Readers of the InsureMe Agent Blog!
Just wanted to let you all know that we've been experiencing some technical difficulties here at the Agent Blog, which are keeping us from cleaning the SPAM from the comments and making it difficult to publish some of our posts.
The wonderful folks in our IT department are working on the issue, so please bear with us while we sort this out. And if you could turn a blind eye to those unsightly SPAM comments, that'd make me feel better. Unless you want free ringtones or something...then by all means, click away.
Hmm. On second thought, don't. :)

I don't know if this blog site is a very good idea. My feelings are that bloggers are going to use the site for posting information that is favorable to their company or not favorable to their competitors. All insurance companies deal with issues in the industry and this site would be a fertile area to post information that is negative to a particular company. If you keep the blog up, you should screen those blogs that are not in the best interest of the InsureMe community as a whole.

David,
Taking your employer into consideration, I can surely understand why one of my recent posts would cause you a bit of discomfort. However, I think if you’d have spent a bit more time on the site, you would have seen that the InsureMe Agent Blog is not used to:
A. Promote InsureMe’s agent program
B. Support or disparage one insurance company over another
You may not be aware, but the InsureMe company is independent of insurersâ€â€instead matching consumers with the captive and non-captive insurance agents who buy insurance leads from us. All things considered, it really wouldn’t be in our best interest to speak unprofessionally of others in the industry, especially seeing as that kind of behavior goes against the values that govern this company.
On the other hand, one of the tenets of this blog is to discuss industry news and engage other insurance professionals in an open dialogue about these industry happenings. So, if a major insurer makes headlinesâ€â€you’ll probably see that news discussed here.
While I’m not exactly clear on what you mean by “screening other blogsâ€Â, we have yet to receive negative comments on this blog about any one insurer. We have, as of recently, gotten a fair amount of SPAM comments trying to promote a certain company, all of which will be deleted as soon as our technical issues are fixed. Furthermore, I don’t expect that blatant, slandering comments about a particular insurer would have a great shelf life on this blogâ€â€we have the capability to remove comments that aren’t constructive in nature, though, as I said, we have yet to encounter such remarks.
In closing, I appreciate you sharing your concerns. I sincerely encourage you, however, to spend some more time on the Agent Blog, and see why agents find value in it. I think you’ll realize we’re here to help agents, not to hurt.
